Who is chiropractic for?
Chiropractic care is for everyone! While certain conditions may prohibit certain chiropractic techniques, Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center is proud to offer many different forms of chiropractic care to accommodate patient needs.
Can chiropractic care help things other than my back?
Absolutely! At Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center, the doctors offer different therapies for a variety of conditions. For example, extremity adjustments can be very helpful for complaints of foot, knee and hip pain as well as hand/wrist, elbow and shoulder pain. A thorough diagnostic exam is done to determine what the proper course of care is discussed with the patient beforehand.
How long until I get relief?
Everyone is different. While we have patients who have received relief after 1 visit, some patients take longer. The basic premise of chiropractic is that the body is built to heal and maintain itself. Removing obstructions to the central and peripheral nervous systems helps these processes function in an uninhibited manner.
Do I have to get X-rays?
No. However, X-rays can be very useful in determining if any red flags are present in order to properly diagnose and prescribe the appropriate care plan. They can also give the doctor and patient a better idea of the time frame in which the patient should feel the benefit of chiropractic care.
Can I be adjusted while pregnant?
Yes! There are many studies that conclude that chiropractic care during pregnancy can bring many benefits to the physical well being of the pregnant woman. Also, Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center has specialized tables and equipment to aid in the adjustment to the pregnant patient, such as being able to lay face down without applying pressure to the abdomen.
When are orthotics deemed appropriate?
After the doctor and patient discuss a thorough foot exam, typically the doctor will prescribe a very specific exercise regimen for the feet. Only if the foot dysfunctions are still present are orthotics made.
Will my insurance cover chiropractic?
Most likely! A list of the insurance companies that we work with can be found on our website. You can always call your insurance to check beforehand and we will also verify your insurance status when you arrive on your first visit.
Can chiropractic help with a "pinched nerve"?
Absolutely! Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center has multiple effective techniques for helping patients with “pinched nerves” in the neck, mid back and lower back.
What if I have had surgery?
As long as you are 6 months out of surgery, chiropractic can be safely added to your health care regimen. Discuss any previous surgeries with your chiropractor so the safety and efficacy can be determined before your first chiropractic adjustment.
Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?
No! At Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center we pride ourselves in our ability to perform MANY different types of chiropractic adjustments. OUR goal is to make sure our patients are as comfortable as possible while we work to achieve YOUR goals. Feel free to ask the doctors what kind of techniques may work best for you!
What if I'm not in pain?
Chiropractic adjustments are great for pain prevention and even increased physical function. While individual care plans are always discussed with our patients, general maintenance adjustments are great to schedule about every 1-6 months depending on individual needs.
What will my first visit look like?
Most first visits will involve a detailed history and physical exam with the doctor. X-rays MAY be taken on the first visit if the doctor and patient determine they are necessary or will benefit the patients health outcomes to help them meet their goals. When appropriate certain treatments may be given on the first visit to begin the process of achieving the patient’s goals.
Are X-rays dangerous?
No! While there are obvious times to exclude the use of radiation (such as pregnancy), there are no studies that show that diagnostic X-rays cause any form of documented bodily harm. Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center utilizes a DR X-ray system that produces very little radiation compared to older units.
Is chiropractic okay for children?
Absolutely yes! In fact, at Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center we believe the earlier we catch an obstruction to the nervous system, the better the body will function over time! Many children are born with birth injuries that can be very easily and VERY gently corrected. For example, during childbirth doctors must rotate the baby’s head in order to get the shoulders out of the birth canal. This can cause a simple misalignment in the cervical spine of the child that may cause his or her jaw to hurt which can make latching very painful. We have personally seen many children have a much easier time breastfeeding once this misalignment is corrected. Our pediatric spinal adjustments are done either with gentle instruments and/or gentle hand contact.
Do I have to purchase multiple adjustments?
No! At Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center we do NOT tie patient’s into long care plans. We are able to apply credits to patient’s accounts if they wish to pay ahead of time, but it is NEVER a requirement to purchase multiple visits at one time.
Will Medicare cover chiropractic?
Yes! Medicare will cover chiropractic visits for most patients. However, Medicare does not always cover X-rays in a chiropractic office, so If you have previous X-rays be sure to bring them along on your first visit. If you do not have X-rays, you can discuss your options with the doctor on your first visit.
Can chiropractic help with headaches and migraines?
Yes it can! Depending on the cause of your headache/migraine, chiropractic can be very beneficial in decreasing the frequency, severity and duration of the headache/migraine. Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center typically treats headaches and migraines that arise from the neck by using the Atlas Orthogonal technique in which a very precise and VERY gentle force is used in order to correct any misalignments of the cervical spine.
What if I have arthritis, degeneration, scoliosis?
Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center is a great place for you if you have any of these conditions! While degeneration is not reversible, we can slow down it’s progression by enhancing the body’s center of gravity. Also, scoliosis is not always correctable, but it can be safely adjusted to help limit any symptoms that may arise from the curvature of the spine.

Is laser therapy safe?
Yes! The patient will only feel a slight warming sensation. Additionally, safety glasses and precautions are always in place before treatment.
How long does a laser therapy treatment session take?
Treatment from a class IV laser only takes a few minutes to get the maximum effect. They work 5x faster than class III or cold lasers as well.
How long should I undergo laser therapy treatment to achieve a result?
It depends. However, it is recommended in most cases to be treated two-three times per week for four-six weeks to achieve lasting results.
How soon after treatment will I notice the results?
The noticeable change is what makes class IV laser therapy elite. Some patients notice a change after the first session. Of course, everyone is different. Others may take a few sessions but it’s not uncommon to feel the results soon after.
